Getaway Trip - Washington, DC Day 3

Day 3 started with breakfast in the State room with new friends….and good-byes started….we have had such an incredible time and met some amazing people and peers!
 

Then off to ride the subway and meeting Brandi, a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator who I will see again in November at Head Office, and then off to check out the shopping and more sight-seeing!

Our day's fun times included Jeff playing outdoor chess and possibly being beaten by a 7 year old….shhh, don't tell him that I shared that…and then a day at the mall, yes my man is amazing and loves to shop too!

We spent a day shopping and exploring new stores!  Then a patio dinner at Shake Shack - great eats!

Now this trip has been amazing and not a holiday for sleep, so why change that now…we didn't want to miss a minute here so we are packed and wait for our 3:30 am hotel departure to travel back to Baltimore for the start of our trip home!  Thank you Stampin' Up! 

Getaway Trip - Washington, DC Day 2

A few hours of sleep were needed after our 36 hours plus of awake time, then our day of adventures started!  And wow what a day!  We started with a Stampin' Up! breakie in the State Room of our hotel and then off to our private, guided hop on & off bus tour.  Taking in such sights as the Lafayette Park, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and US Capitol.  Then lunch and an afternoon at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

Everything from skeleton gangs like this….to the Hope Diamond!

Back to the hotel for a quick change and a spontaneous dinner with a wonderful couple from Chatham, Ontario that we had just met!  And "oh my" the chicken pot pie individual serving, Jeff and I shared and could not finish!!!

Then off to ride the subway and see the Washington Capitols beat the Boston Bruins in overtime!  Yes, ironic I know, we traveled across the continent to the USA to watch our country's favorite sport!

And the day finished with a pillow gift from Stampin' Up!  Thank you Stampin' Up! this trip is amazing!

Getaway Trip - Washington, DC

After travelling 13 hours and being up for over 26 hours, Jeff & I arrived in our Getaway destination, Washington, DC.  Stampin' Up! is treating us like royalty staying in the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel.

Had a wonderful dinner with another Canadian demonstrator, Melanie & her husband Martin, and Sara,     Stampin' Up! Assistant to the CEO & Sean Douglass, Stampin' Up! Creative Director.

We returned to the hotel to find a pillow gift from Georgetown Cupcake…such a yummy dessert!

Tomorrow is an early start with a day full of site seeing on our private guided Washington tour!  Stay tuned for more pictures on my blog tomorrow!
